My identity has been shaped by many layers - being a woman, an immigrant, and a lifelong learner deeply rooted in culture. I believe in meaningful, holistic transformation: change that nurtures genuine health, resilience, and well-being. Originally from Romania, I came to Canada more than a decade ago, and the ongoing process of weaving together my cultural roots with a new environment has become a defining part of my personal and professional journey. This lived experience continues to shape how I support others in rediscovering and embracing their identities as complex, multi-dimensional human beings.

My life journey has cultivated my capacity to meet others with openness, patience, and compassion, without judgment. I hold close the words of Jim Dumont: “Everyone has the right to feel good about who they are.” This belief guides my work and reflects my deep respect for each person’s inherent dignity.

I have worked in the social work field in both Romania and Canada. Alongside my education in my home country, I earned my Bachelor of Social Work and Master of Social Work from Dalhousie University, a program grounded in anti-oppressive and trauma-informed practice. This training strengthened my understanding of how systemic oppression, relational trauma, and social contexts shape mental health and identity. In my practice, I support individuals navigating life transitions, anxiety, ADHD, depression, insomnia, and relationship challenges, including recovery from narcissistic abuse.

My therapeutic approach is integrative, relational, and collaborative. I believe that healing occurs when we honour the whole person - mind, body, emotions, relationships, and spirit. Each client carries their own inner wisdom and is the true expert of their lived experience. My role is not to “fix,” but to walk alongside, offering support, curiosity, and a safe, attuned presence as clients reconnect with themselves and their inner resources.

Spirituality, in my work, is not about religion or belief systems. Rather, it is about meaning, connection, and the deeper sense of self that exists beneath survival patterns and trauma responses. For some, this may involve reconnecting with intuition, inner guidance, values, nature, creativity, or a sense of purpose. For others, it may mean cultivating self-compassion, learning to listen to the body, or reconnecting with what feels alive, grounded, and true. I approach spirituality in a client-led, respectful way, integrating it only when it feels supportive and aligned with the client’s values and worldview.

I place strong emphasis on nervous system regulation, emotional safety, and embodied awareness, recognizing that trauma often lives in the body as much as in the mind. Healing, therefore, is not only cognitive, but experiential, allowing space for felt sense, presence, and gentle integration over time. I strive to create a therapeutic space that feels grounding, sacred, and deeply human, where clients can slow down, be witnessed, and reconnect with themselves at a deeper level.

I named my practice Elpis Therapy after the Greek personification of hope. Hope is a powerful survival force and one of my greatest teachers. I believe that every person carries a natural capacity for healing and growth, even when it has been buried under pain, loss, or adversity. With the right support, tools, and compassionate guidance, the past does not have to define the future. Together, we can reconnect with hope, rediscover inner light, and create a life rooted in greater peace, authenticity, and wholeness.
